History<\/h2>\n

Daimaru Fujii Central was founded by Fujii Senzo, a native of Shiga Prefecture, who moved to Sapporo in 1892 when he was 20 years old with nothing more than 5 yen. Making his living as an oil peddler he began to supplement this work by selling paper in 1893. Through hard work and determination he managed to expand his business and by 1906 he had built a store at the location where the current Daimaru Fujii Central now stands. By 1909 this was the number one stationery store in Sapporo, and today Daimaru Fuijii Central is the biggest stationery store in Hokkaido.<\/p>\n
