Century Royal Hotel Sapporo closed on 31 May 2024 after its final checkout and breakfast service. The hotel had operated near the south exit of Sapporo Station since May 1973. It offered a range of facilities and services including a souvenir shop, four dining venues, a currency exchange machine, and a same-day laundry service. Guest rooms featured full amenities and tasteful modern furnishings.

Directly connected to both JR and subway line services via an underground passageway, the hotel’s location made it a convenient base for exploring central Sapporo’s major sightseeing attractions and shopping districts.

Century Royal Hotel Sapporo had 300 guest rooms in a 23-story building. A range of guest rooms and suites catered to different budgets, with single, double and twin bed options.

All rooms had free wired and wireless internet access. Standard guest room facilities included an LCD TV with satellite channels and video on demand, a refrigerator, a writing desk and telephone, an electric kettle and tea-making facilities, a negative ion hair dryer, a combined air purifier and humidifier, pajamas, slippers, and a trouser press. Bathroom amenities included towels, shampoo, conditioner, soap, body sponges, shaving razors, toothbrushes and toothpaste, hair brushes, combs, and a bathroom TV.

Breakfast & Dining
Century Royal Hotel Sapporo had four dining venues, including breakfast restaurants and a tea lounge. Dining service ended with the hotel’s closure in May 2024.
Yuuyoo Terrace on the 2nd floor served an all-you-can-eat buffet breakfast. The buffet featured a wide variety of Western, Japanese, and Chinese dishes, with fresh vegetables, Hokkaido cheese and venison, brown rice pancakes, freshly baked bread, and desserts.
Tea Lounge Fontaine on the 2nd floor served light breakfasts, ice creams and desserts with coffee, tea and other soft drinks.
Japanese Restaurant Kitanoji on the 19th floor served Japanese set breakfasts and seafood rice bowls. Its lunch and dinner menus included traditional Japanese set meals, kaiseki course meals and a la carte dishes.
Sky Restaurant Rondo before the hotel’s closure
Sky Restaurant Rondo was an elegant French restaurant on the 23rd floor serving lunch and dinner. Its revolving dining room gave diners panoramic 360-degree city views while they ate. Rondo’s final service was on 30 May 2024.

Century Royal Hotel Sapporo had a 24-hour front desk located on the 2nd floor. Check-in was from 14.00 and check-out was by 11.00, with late check-outs available for a fee.
Luggage could be left at the cloak room by the front desk before checking in or after checking out. There was also a safe at the front desk for valuables.
A foreign currency exchange machine stood beside the front desk and handled a range of international currencies.
Laptop computers could be rented from the front desk.
Extra blankets and pillows could be borrowed from the front desk. Other items available to borrow included mobile phone and smartphone chargers, ironing equipment, lamps, bottle openers, DVD players and wheelchairs for use within the hotel.
A 24-hour convenience store on the 1st floor sold snacks, drinks and daily groceries.
There was a souvenir shop on the 2nd floor.
Sky Restaurant Rondo provided evening room service.
In-room massages could be booked at the front desk.
The hotel offered same-day laundry and ironing services.
The hotel also had a shoeshine service.
Parking was available in the hotel’s B3 basement level, with nearby contracted parking used when needed. The hotel no longer provides guest parking.

Location
Century Royal Hotel Sapporo was located at Kita 5-jo Nishi 5-chome, near the south exit of JR Sapporo Station. An underground passageway connected the hotel with the station. Its location was also convenient for Hokkaido University’s Botanical Gardens, the Old Hokkaido Government Building (“Akarenga”), and Hokkaido University Museum. This is the hotel’s former location, not an operating accommodation.
Century Royal Hotel Sapporo is closed. The booking links below do not indicate that the hotel has reopened.
