Breakfast is served between 6.30 and 10.00, with last orders at 9.30. This is a buffet breakfast with both Western and Japanese items, including Hokkaido specialties such as soup curry, alongside grilled fish, vegetables, rice and bread. The selection varies with the season. Breakfast costs 2,090 yen for adults and children of elementary school-age, and is free for pre-school children.

For other meals there are plenty of cafes, sushi shops, ramen noodle stores, and casual izakaya style diners in the area around the hotel. Hotel staff will be happy to recommend the best local restaurants. There is also a 24-hour convenience store just one minute on foot from the hotel where you can buy cheap snacks, soft drinks, and alcoholic beverages.

Hotel Keihan Sapporo has a 24-hour reception desk with friendly staff who speak both Japanese and English.
Check-in time is between 15.00 and 26.00 and check-out time is by 11.00, unless your booking plan specifies otherwise. The front entrance is locked from midnight to 6.00; arriving guests who have not checked in can use the intercom. Baggage can be left at reception before checking in or after checking out.
Irons, trouser presses and mobile phone chargers can be borrowed from reception, subject to availability. Contact the hotel in advance if you need a baby bed, as these cannot be fitted in every room.
This hotel has shared baths on the 2nd floor, separated by gender and free for overnight guests. The baths are not hot springs. They are open between 15.00 and 25.00 in the evening and between 6.00 and 10.00 in the morning. Bring a towel from your room and use the passcode supplied at check-in to enter. The code changes daily, so guests staying more than one night should collect the day’s code from reception. Guests with tattoos are not permitted to use the shared baths.
Vending machines are located on the even-numbered floors from the 2nd to the 14th. The ice machine and microwave oven are on the 2nd floor, and water dispensers are on the 2nd, 7th and 13th floors.
There is a self-service laundry inside the 2nd-floor bath changing rooms. Washing costs 600 yen per cycle and drying costs 100 yen per 10 minutes. The machines use electrolyzed water without detergent, and payment is cashless only, using a smartphone.
This hotel also has a paid laundry service. Ask reception about collection times and when your items will be returned.

Location
Hotel Keihan Sapporo is about a 4 minute walk from the West Exit of JR Sapporo Station and is also convenient for the campus of Hokkaido University which is a short walk to the north and the Hokkaido University Botanical Gardens which are a short walk to the south.
The hotel’s mechanical car park has 20 spaces, including four for taller vehicles, available on a first-come, first-served basis. Parking costs 1,500 yen per night from noon to noon. Vehicle size restrictions apply, so check with the hotel before bringing a large car. An affiliated car park is offered when the hotel car park is full.
