Marui Imai Sapporo Department Store – The Ichijo Building

The Ichijo Building is one of two main buildings occupied by the Marui Imai department store in Sapporo. The other main building is the Odori Building which stands immediately to the north of the Ichijo Building and is directly connected to it by walkways at the B1 basement level and at the 5th and 7th floors. There is also a two-story Nishi Building which stands beside the Ichijo Building and which stocks only Louis Vuitton goods.

While the main focus of the Odori Building is on women’s clothing, cosmetics, and accessories, the Ichijo Building has a large men’s wear section spread across three floors, as well as furniture, interior goods, kimonos, watches, jewelry, and two floors of luxury brand boutiques. Marui Imai’s dining facilities are also concentrated in the Odori Building, although the Ichijo Building does have one café on its 2nd floor and a well-known soba noodle shop in its basement.

In this article we will introduce the highlights of the Ichijo Building. Please see our separate guide to the Odori Building for more details of that building.
